At Little Giants Nursery the children’s safety and wellbeing is our priority and it is our duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. We are required to take any reasonable action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child. Where we are concerned about a child, we will always aim to discuss our concerns with a parent or carer, unless we believe that such an action would be detrimental to the child’s welfare. In all cases of concern, we follow the procedures outlined in our Safeguarding Policy, gaining advice, or making referrals to other agencies as appropriate. We work very closely with the MASH (Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub) and the LCSS (Locality and Community Support Service) to protect the children and support them and their families.
If you are worried about a child’s safety or welfare, please do not hesitate to contact one of the Designated Safeguarding Lead’s at the nursery:
Charmaine Fouche – Manager – Designated Safeguarding Lead
Clare Franklin – Deputy Manager/SENCo – Deputy Safeguarding Lead
If you have a concern about a child outside of nursery hours, you can call MASH on 0345 050 7666. If you have a concern about one of the staff at the nursery and do not feel comfortable to talk to one of our Designated Safeguarding Lead’s about the concern, you can contact the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) on 01865 810603.
